Bills QB Edwards is questionable for Sunday game at Carolina

The Buffalo Bills quarterback Trent Edwards sustained the second concussion of his NFL career during Sunday’s 16-13 overtime win over the New York Jets. After the game he was healthy enough to travel home with the team, but he still needs further evaluation to see if he will be able to play this weekend’s game against the Panthers at Caroline.

According to Coach Dick Jauron, the team will take Edwards’ injury day to day and see how he comes out of it. He personally hopes the quarterback will be healthy soon. If Edwards will be unable to play, Ryan Fitzpatrick will probably take over his job after going 10 of 25 for 116 yards and a touchdown in rallying Buffalo (2-4) to victory.

Edwards was hurt when he was sacked while sandwiched between defenders in Jets jerseys: David Harris and Calvin Pace, who drove him backward into the turf. Jauron confirmed after the game that Edwards suffered a concussion. The last time when Edwards suffered a concussion was on Oct. 5 when the Bills was playing against the Cardinals.
